Me-Time Tag

Thanks to Jenny (my saviour in finding the #nyLDNmeetup) for tagging me in my first blogger tag! I have been meaning to do a personal post for ages now but have been distracted by being out and about – which pretty much sums up my non-existent me-time.

1. What do you watch or read during me-time?

I am usually doing something else when the television is on as I am a massive multi-tasker, but there are a handful of shows that get my full attention such as Sons Of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and American Horror Story. All super cheery stories, I know.

I do enjoy reading but very rarely find the time to sit and relax with a book. I have been struggling through Game of Thrones for months now, there are just so many characters and place names to remember. I also like reading about other people’s lives and have recently finished #GirlBoss and Not The Kind of Girl.

I think next up is Yes Please by Amy Poehler; I appreciate a feisty female author.

I also enjoy a good flick through Things and Ink for tattoo inspiration.

2. What do you wear during me-time?

I usually wear leggings and an oversized t-shirt or joggers and a vest top, something comfortable that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to pop to the shops in.

3. What are your me-time beauty products?

Anything quick, I have zero patience but a face mask like the Seaweed Iconic Clay Mask from The Body Shop, followed by a good moisturizer alway makes me feel rejuvenated.

4. Current favourite nail polish?

Barry M is a firm favourite of mine, currently I am wearing Blackberry and Black Multi-Glitter, but I can’t wait to try their new Quick Dry collection as I never wait long enough for them to dry properly and end up with a smudgy mess.

5. What do you eat/drink during me-time?

For me food is a very social thing so I tend to go for a big glass of red wine, a craft beer or gin when unwinding alone. I just have the one though, I’m not a get drunk alone type of person.

6. Current favourite candle?

I won a give-away on The Persephone Complex which included a Linea Elderflower And Lime candle which is a lovely clean citrus fragrance.

7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?

Most of my me-time takes place outdoors, I walk to and from work and is pretty much the only time where I can switch off from my computer. I love putting in my headphones and zoning out as the everyday East London chaos takes place around me.

8. Would you ever go see a movie alone?

I started going to the cinema alone when I was backpacking and haven’t looked back. I love films so sitting without any distracting chatter at a film I actually want to see is a real treat for me.

9. Favourite online store?

There are so many, but I would say ASOS, Zara, H&M, Gypsy Warrior and Dolls Kill are the ones that I visit most often.

10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?

I know that me-time is important, but I am not a very relaxed person and actually find switching off really stressful. I am a constant whirlwind of work and ideas so when I do take time out from working I prefer to spend it with friends rather than alone. Even something as simple as a bath only lasts about 5 minutes before I get restless and I am asking myself “what now”?

I would love some tips on learning how to enjoy me-time without getting bored so I am going to tag

Stephanie from Blood Sweat and Heels
Erin from Island Bell
Emsy from Emsy Pickle
Frankie from The Mayfairy

Ooooooooh this is such an interesting tag. Thanks for including me. Quite honestly, is there anyone in the world who can actually wait for nail polish to dry instead of smudging and ruining it immediately?! Not including people sitting in a nail salon being forced to wait for it to dry, obv.

No worries, looking forward to seeing your answers.

It is complete mystery to me when people have perfect nails that they have done themselves, it is an obstacle I am determined to overcome this year!

I will now forever be grateful to you for introducing me to Dolls Kill! I’ve been looking for a shop like that in ages!

Dolls Kill and Nasty Gal are my absolute go to for outfit inspiration, I am glad you have found a new shop by the sounds of things your credit card may not be so grateful.

Thanks for the tag! Elderflower and lime candle sounds incredible. I got so sick of chipped/smudged nails I bought a gel lamp off of amazon and haven’t looked back! xx

Another blogger recommended that I get a gel lamp, I might have to check it out.

Thanks love, I got my boyfriend to take this picture at like 9 on a Sunday morning, he though I was a proper weirdo clutching a glass of wine that early and I had to reassure him that it was only a prop. Can’t wait to read your answers.
