Taking the step into vlogging is something I have been debating over for what seems like ages. Though I am familiar with the world of YouTube (using it on a daily basis for tips, advice, work outs, inspiration and entertainment) there is something about putting up a video of myself that seems much more raw than blogging.
I have met some bloggers who I have not recognised in real life as they have their angles down and are photoshop wizards, that is their choice and is the same as the airbrushed media that we are now accustomed to but, in video, there are few places to hide.
I don’t use any trickery on my blog as my online persona is a reflection of who I am in real life, despite this, vlogging seemed to be a further progression of opening myself up to the online world.
Recording this video I was so nervous that it took hours, which I thought this was an arduous process until I started editing. Watching myself over and over again whilst trying to work out where to cut at least a few of my long ums, ahs and pauses was truly painstaking.
You are probably thinking if I am so anxious about making a vlog and didn’t even enjoy the process of creating it, then why am I doing it?
I constantly like to challenge myself as some of the most scary things I have undertaken have been the most rewarding. I also like to learn new skills, so basically I thought I was worth giving it a shot.
What is your guy’s opinion of YouTube? Are you an avid user like me? If any of you are vloggers, do you have any tips?
