UE Roll Beach Party

I am a bit of a disaster (in general) but most of all when it comes to looking after my personal belongings. This is especially true when it comes to music devices – this year I have already managed to destroy 2 sets of speakers, 5 sets of headphones and smashed my iPhone screen. I blame the fact that I cannot go anywhere without listening to music, just the thought of leaving the house minus my own personal soundtrack sends me into an anxiety fuelled frenzy.

The combination of my love of music and haphazard nature is why I was so enthusiastic about checking out Ultimate Ears‘ latest product, the UE Roll, a wireless bluetooth speaker that is designed for people on the go or who like a little adventure. To fit in with such lifestyles the device is waterproof and made from durable materials so that you can ‘dunk it, drop it, or toss it’ around. There is also a loop made out of  bungy cord to strap the speaker onto your clothing, swimwear, bag, tree, car or wherever you want to take your music.

This product is not just a gimmick and every element has been created to give your music the best sound possible. The disk shape provides 360° sound which you can tweak, turn, up, down, on or off from the app and if the sound from just one isn’t enough to get your party started, you can connect more speakers.

The launch party was held at Camden Beach a large golden sand covered area located on The Roundhouse roof which brings a touch of the seaside to the city.

Bypassing the happy punters playing in the sand, we flashed our wristbands, and stomped the sand out of our shoes as we climbed the product lined stairs to the private party.

Continuing with the summer vibes the area was decorated with brightly coloured deckchairs, towels, blow up palm trees, and, of course, a model filled hot tub.

Helping ourselves to drinks, we were introduced to the brand with a short talk before being treated to a make up tutorial by Katie Snooks, who took us from beach to bar which was appropriately timed, as the sun began to set.

UE Roll’s tagline is to make music social, which they completely achieved at their party with load music, a BBQ and an the opportunity to play with the speakers.

There were so many of the devices on display that it was difficult to tell which one we had connected to, but  racing around neighbouring tables to find the matching speaker was a conversation starter.

Feeling relaxed at the end of a fun evening we took a turn in the photobooth and as you can see by these snaps I have my red carpet look down!

I was lucky enough to be given on of their speakers to take home and although they come in a range of vibrant colours, I of course  stuck with my inner goth and went for Volcano – a classic black with just a hint of red.

Though I have not had the chance to take it out on a proper adventure yet my UE Roll has survived being in the kitchen with me, whilst cooking which is an impressive feat in itself!

If you want to take a look at the portable speaker they are available from John Lewis.

Are you like me and cannot live without music on the go? I need to expand my playlist, so what are your favourite summer tunes?

* I was invited to the UE Roll Launch Party by Brands2Life, provided with food, drinks and gifted a speaker however, as always, all opinions are my own and if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t share it with you guys.
