A Walk Down Brick Lane

This East London area has had a lot of press attention lately with gentrification and the Fuck Parade protests making headlines, but nothing can put me off visiting Brick Lane. My favourite time to stroll down the cobbled streets is on a  Sunday when the market stall holders set up to sell a huge assortment of knick-knacks, fashion and food to both visitor and locals.

Sunday is not the best day to visit if you are not keen on crowds as people swarm the street, making little room for passers by, however if you let yourself be taken along with the bustling crowds it is a great place to hang out and appreciate the city’s diversity.

If you need a break from all the excitement there are plenty of cafes, pubs, curry houses to have some food and drink, or (my usual choice) curbs to sit down on, take a breather and watch the world go by.

Where is your favourite place to hang out at the weekends? Do you prefer quiet or chaotic?
