Skeleton Makeup Tutorial

It might come as no surprise to you that I love Halloween; it’s creepy, fun and you get to be someone else for the night. Over that past couple of years friends have not been as enthustaic about my favourite holiday, however this year I have musical bingo and a house party to go to. So, feeling in the spooky spirit I thought I would share one of my top classic halloween looks.

I am all about dressing up being silly and scary as opposed to sexy (mainly because I can’t really pull of a provocative vibe) that is why I like to stick with a classic look such as this skeleton one.

I have a bit of thing for skulls in general, having at least one in every room. I know that sounds a bit weird and morbid but for me skulls represent celebration of inevitable death. The symbol is used across many cultures – they were used by Shakespeare, in Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations, paintings, by outlaws, on poison, by pirates, and of course in rock, so I had plenty of references and inspiration.

I was a little nervous about doing a makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel so thought I would bite the bullet with a look I felt comfortable with. I dressed up as a skeleton two years ago so had a little previous practice.

I kept this video really basic, simply using Snazaroo black and white face paint, liquid liner, with purple and black eyeshadow to make this budget friendly, and hopefully easy to follow along with.

Please let me know if you like this style of video as my initial plan when starting my YouTube channel was to include more makeup into my blog.

What are your favourite looks for Halloween? Do you like to stick with classics such as witches or skeletons like me or do you prefer to be a sexy cat or something more obscure?
