New York AlternativeFashion Lookbook

This is a collection of some of the outfits I wore whilst in New York recently, there were two more but we had some major technical difficulties and they somehow never recorded.

Those of you with eagle eyes might notice that there are a few items reused in these looks, but that is because I believe the heart of fashion lies in styling, not in how many items are hanging in your wardrobe and also because I hate carrying a heavy bag so pack lightly.

One of the reasons I am so drawn to New York is because, like London, anything goes – which means that my typically grungy/rock inspired style fits in perfectly especially in creative, edgy areas like the Lower Eastside and Brooklyn where I tend to hang out. These areas are my favourites because they are filled with art, creativity and diversity yet still have a gritty vibe which comes hand and hand with the street art scene that I am enthusiastic to learn more about.

This is the first time I have filmed a lookbook and things did not go exactly to plan, so I will also be putting individual posts for each look on my blog but thought seeing how the clothes moved gave a better idea of how they fit and flow in real life.

Are there any cities you feel fit your style?  Do you prefer videos or still images when it comes to fashion?

  1. That topshop top in the first look is amazing – I’ve seen it in some of your instagram photos and I want it!

You are so right about NYC — anything goes when it comes to style. That’s what I love about the city too. Great outfits!

It’s so cool isn’t it? New York is one of my favourite places for street style inspiration people are so creative.
