I live in skinny jeans but have not purchased a pair of classic blue jeans in at least 6 years.
At university I took a job at Gap where I was highly encouraged by my manager to wear blue jeans, white t-shirts and to tone down my makeup to look more ‘on brand’. After I escaped having to wear that all-American look daily I never wanted to go back to it again.
That was until I was in New York last December, I always stock up on denim whilst in the states as it is so much cheaper than in the UK. This year I managed to pick up even more of a bargain when one of my favourite denim stores American Eagle where offering an additional 40% off to celebrate the holiday season.
I love using a sale to branch out from my safe goth style, so as well as grabbing a pair of my beloved ripped black jeans, I thought I would give blue a try again. I tried on a few pairs but didn’t feel comfortable in the more traditional clean cut styles but was totally sold on this ripped pair
I can’t believe I have waffled on this long about how I bought jeans, I am pretty sure you all know how to walk into a shop pick up your size and pay for them!
Anyway, trying to avoid getting flashbacks to my boring Gap days I made what should have been a timeless look and turned into my usual rock inspired style.
I know that the term trashy is deemed as a negative but I kind of like to look like I might have been thrown out of a Steel Panther gig and am trying to find a ride home because, in my eyes, fashion should always be fun.

How do you like to wear jeans: classic and clean cut or a little rough round the edges like me?
