I know this palette has been out since summer 2015, and there have been at least a million reviews, but I am not one to jump on a trend and aim to share my favourite products with you because I have used and abused them enough to know that they are keepers.
I am a self confessed Urban Decay fangirl, and though I liked the previous Naked and Vice palettes they didn’t speak to my inner rock chick as much as the Smoky and as soon I saw it at the Debehams press day I knew I had to make it mine.
The Naked Smoky contains 12 eyeshadows, 9 brand new shades and 3 from previous palettes. There are neutrals tones, as well as greys, blues, purple and black shades which makes it easy to create versatile looks whatever the occasion.
With such a range of colours, palettes can often seem intimidating but the Smoky shadows are split into three sections, grouping together the shimmery, satin shadows, and matte shades making it easy to navigate.
Despite the difference in textures they are all highly pigmented and beautifully blendable and have very little fallout, which is exactly what you need to create the perfect smokey eye.
To make it even more usable it also includes a high quality double ended brush and step by step guide to create keys looks.
It’s not just the shadows themselves that I was impressed with but also the packaging which, unlike some of the other Naked packaging, is plastic with a magnetic closure and large mirror which makes it perfect for throwing in a bag and is much more durable than some of it’s predecessors.
I am sure that this will not be the first tutorial using the Smoky palette on my channel as it is my go-to for creating many looks.
That is the same story for most of my makeup as I hate product waste and don’t have funds to spurge on beauty. I use many of the same items experimenting with different looks and sharing the highlights over here.
