Welcome to the new look Emma Inks!
I was not happy with the design and layout of my blog for ages but was not quite sure what to do with it. I knew that I wanted my site to be more organised but also did not want to take away from what makes it uniquely mine. My blog is very much a representation of me and going down a minimalist route seemed like an obvious but inauthentic choice for me.
After watching my toing and froing, Pablo offered the services of his web design company Shed Collective. Taking a book of garbled ideas to designer Tom, I thought was a nightmare client but he totally understood what I was looking for and came up with a look that was still dark and edgy but with a new found lucidity.
The homepage continues to have all of my content on display but the hero image highlights my three most recent posts to showcase my most current work.
When I started my blog 18 months ago it was simply a scrapbook of the things I enjoy, but the more I wrote it, it became clear that my posts began to fall into certain groupings and I wanted to make these categories clearer.
Each post is now labeled with, London, Travel, Food, Fashion, Beauty, or Video which will hopefully make navigating my ramblings a little easier.
Some of these categories overlap but to try and make things even clearer each one now has it’s own homepage so if you want to find a place to eat in London you do not have to trudge through my trips, outfits, or thoughts.
There is also a section dedicated to my videos so even if you are not subscribed you can keep track of my YouTube content.
Within the posts themselves the image sizes have been increased as well key text highlights, making it easier for quick browsing.
I couldn’t be happier with the makeover but I would love you guys to have a click around and let me know what you think.
