Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
It claims to be revolutionary in formula giving high concealer coverage, with the movement of foundation and the light weight texture of power. A three in one foundation that does it all really sounds too good to be true, but from my experience it really works. My skin is prone to breakouts and this foundation was high coverage enough to mask any redness and blended beautifully without feeling heavy on the skin. The only downside of the foundation stick is it seems like a small amount of product for such a high price, but due to the high concentration of pigment you only need to use a minimal amount of product to create flawless looking skin.
Tarte Shape Tape
I hunted high all over America for this concealer, finally picking it up in Vegas; I am happy to report it was worth the hassle. Suffering from both eye bags and acne I need a high coverage concealer that does it all. Shape Tape is a perfect multipurpose product: long wearing, brightening and pigmented enough to tackle all of my skin related issues. It is hydrating and blends easily so is also great for sculpting if you want that chiseled out look. Many of the other concealers that I have tried start out well but half way through the day begin to dry out or flake, but not Shape Tape which stuck around all day. The only small issue I have with this product is the tapered wand applicator which works for contouring but applies a little too much product for under eyes and covering blemishes for my liking but, apart from that, I can’t see me using any other concealer for the foreseeable future.
Kat Von D x Too Faced Better Together Palette
Two brands that I love coming together in a heart shaped palette was just to perfect to leave on the shelf, especially since it also came with full sized Better Than Sex Mascara and my beloved Tattoo Liner. The palette includes 6 Too Faced shadows, 6 Kat Von D shadows which split into two great compact sized half heart palettes. Both sides are very different in style; Too Faced is cute with pastel and natural colours where as the Kat side has more of an edge (which is way more my style). Over the past 6 weeks this has been my go to and though there is quite a lot of kickback on some of the shadows, they blend out like a dream and hold colour well with a wet brush. Whatever your style, soft and pretty or hard edged, there is a colour combo that will work for you.
Jeffree Star Valour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny
I have wanted to get my hands on a Jeffree Star liquid Lipstick for the longest time but every time I had money they seemed to be sold out. Then, unexpectedly, fate came together and as I was on Beauty Bay ordering more Dip Pomade and noticed they had a sale on the much coveted liquid lipsticks and had the colour I wanted in stock. Firstly I obsessed with colour, the plum mauve shade looks exactly as it does in the tube and seems to work with every look. The formula applies opaque then dries completely matte sticking around for hours. Unlike some other matte lipstick this formula does not dry out my lips or flake as it fades. This is my first purchase from Jeffree Star Cosmetics and, so far, I am impressed.
Herbfarmacy Calming Face Cream
I usually go to Lush for moisturiser but after a particularly rough patch with my skin I wanted to try something new so turned to Twitter and the lovely Amanda from Honeypop recommended I check out Herbfarmacy. This brand’s foundations are based in plants – they have their own 5 acre organic farm in Herefordshire where they grow their own ingredients. The calming cream came in a lovely presentation box with lots of information about their range and ethics, as well as some samples. The calming cream itself has been a Godsend and has turned my skin from aggravated to smooth and nourished. The mixture of Chickweed, Calendula, Marshmallow, and Avocado Oil is thick in texture and you only need the smallest amount which makes the £20 price tag well worth the money.
