My Favourite Places to Buy Plants Online and IRL


I am not at all green fingered BUT over lockdown I’ve become quite attached to my plant pals. Of course in my search for new plants to try and keep alive I’ve discovered a whole bunch of great indie plant stores.

If you’re in the market to up your plant game here are a bunch of my favourite plant shops.

Grace and Thorn

Prick

Another one of my favourite places for plants in East London.

Prick is the first shop in London dedicated to selling succulents and cacti so as you can imagine the selection is awesome.

Prick also have books and pots to complement your cacti.

Grow Urban

Neighbourhood indie plant store in Edinburgh to meet all your green fingered needs.

Grow Urban have an awesome range of plants, book, and accessories.

Leaf Envy

A beautiful East London plant store that started as a pop up on founder Beth’s canal boat.

Since then Leaf Envy has grown into a new East London space and online store.

Grown out of a passion for plants and sustainability Leaf Envy are happy to answer your questions for people who are not naturally green fingered, like me!

Leaf Envy also offers subscription boxes and nation wide delivery on their website.

Borrowed Light

The team here are lovely and helped me select some wonderful gifts when I lived in London.

Dahlia

I first stumbled across Dahlia when wandering Marchmont in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. Since then the store has moved to its new home in Stockbridge but still has the same roots.

A family run plant store selling carefully selected plants, homeware and gifts that align with their core values of community, sustainability, and well-being.

Everything in the store has been well thought out and is a dream to shop in. So whether it’s a plant, all natural candle or handmade terrarium you’re after Dahlia has got you covered.

Canopy Plants

One of the highlights of my lockdown is getting our monthly plant Subscription from Canopy. It’s seriously the best moving gift ever from our buddies at The Bramhall Bungalow who have exquisite taste.

The plants are super high quality, come in gorgeous pots and even come with instructions on how to keep your new roomate alive and happy.

Because these guys really care about nature their packaging is full recyclable and their business is run to be as friendly as possible.
