Dudley’s – Wood Street

What is Dudley’s?

This is a cool neighbourhood spot named after a bulldog, so of course I was immediately sold.

The interiors are bright and airy with large windows that wrap round the room making it inviting from the outside as well as a great people watching spot inside.

The clean minimalist interior is given a homely yet on-trend feel with succulents, pieces of art and cool magazines spread around the cafe,.

Despite its modern design Dudley’s has a friendly local atmosphere, from parents needing a caffeine fix on the way to the park with their kids, friends having a catch-up, commuters on their way to Wood Street station or freelancers on their laptop this cafe reflects the eclectic local neighbourhood.

What’s on the Menu?

Dudley’s is a brunch spot serving food until 3pm.

The menu consist of modern brunch classics, with items such as porridge, granola, eggs on toast, corn fritter, french toast, and of course no brunch menu would be complete without smashed avo on toast!

The menu changes from time to time but all dishes are beautifully presented with high quality ingredients that take a seemingly simple menu to the next level.

Supporting other local businesses Dudleys proudly serves up Assembly Coffee, Good & Proper Tea, Today Bread, London Press Juice, and Seven Seeded Baked goods. This passion for keeping things local goes all the way to the oat milk coming from Walthamstow’s own Minor Figures.

This attention to detail and passion for local community is why Dudley’s has quickly become one of my favourite spots.

Can you work there?

I’d say that even though it’s not a space that is intentionally set up for freelancers it’s a comfortable place to crack out your laptop or sketchbook and get on with some work whilst enjoying a coffee.

Saying that, I’d avoid the weekends unless it’s after 3pm, as I would’t personally feel comfortable sitting around for hours on end and taking up space in such a busy spot.

Where is Dudley’s?

Located a stones throw away from Wood Street Station and indoor market, Dudley’s is a great spot for locals and visitors alike.

It’s also easy to find with the help of the vibrant work of Remi Rough which takes up the full side of the building.

When’s it open?

Monday – Friday – 0800 – 1700
Saturday – 0900 -1630
Sunday – 1000 – 1600
